Good job on the babel templates!
I saw you made ܩܠܒܐ:commons category. We already have a ܩܠܒܐ:commonscat. I'm not sure if we need both actually.. Michaelovic (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 15:31, 5 ܒܐܝܠܘܠ 2011 (UTC)
- Haven't noticed the other one... I will redirect the one I made.--Rafy (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 15:33, 5 ܒܐܝܠܘܠ 2011 (UTC)
Question
[ܫܚܠܦ]How would I say "Basic Aramaic" in Aramaic? I'm trying to write my user page but I got stuck. TFighterPilot (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 19:02, 5 ܒܐܝܠܘܠ 2011 (UTC)
- I believe that ܫܘܬܣܐ or ܫܘܬܣ mean basics or fundamentals when used in grammatical contexts. So basics of Aramaic should be "ܫܘܬܣ ܕܠܫܢܐ ܐܪܡܝܐ". If you want to say "I understand basic Aramaic" it should be something like "ܡܣܬܟܠ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܫܘܬܣܐ ܕܠܫܢܐ ܐܪܡܝܐ". I could be wrong with the last one though.--Rafy (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 20:26, 5 ܒܐܝܠܘܠ 2011 (UTC)

ܐܢܓܠܐܝܬ ܐܘ ܣܘܪܝܐܝܬ
[ܫܚܠܦ]ܫܠܡܐ ܐܚܘܢܐ ܪܚܝܡܐ܇
Please use Syriac in templates like ܠܦܦܐ instead of File, and ܣܕܪܐ instead of Category. In the past we had some troubles with the English terms, so please use Syriac from now on.
ܦܘܫ ܒܫܠܡܐ܇ Michaelovic (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 15:55, 6 ܒܐܝܠܘܠ 2011 (UTC)
- I will try to use the Syriac terms as much as possible. It might be a good idea to have a bot doing all the dirty work.--Rafy (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 16:12, 6 ܒܐܝܠܘܠ 2011 (UTC)
You should really start double checking what you type
[ܫܚܠܦ]You recently translated the Aramaic templates in the English Wikipedia to Aramaic. It's a good thing that I have the arc-1 templates, because thanks to that I noticed that you wrote ܢܕܥ instead of ܝܕܥ (The rest of them are ok though). TFighterPilot (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 16:06, 12 ܒܐܝܠܘܠ 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. I will be more careful.--Rafy (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 16:17, 12 ܒܐܝܠܘܠ 2011 (UTC)
infobox
[ܫܚܠܦ]Shlomo Rafy :-). It's a great thing that you are working on templates etc. but to be honest the template on ܠܫܢܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܐ looks a bit messy. What was wrong with with the infobox that was seen on ܥܕܬܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܬܐ ܐܪܬܘܕܟܣܝܬܐ? Michaelovic (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 23:10, 5 ܒܬܫܪܝܢ ܩܕܡ 2011 (UTC)
- I used the template available at enwiki, we have some restrictions here though thats why it doesn't look quite identical.
- I will try to look into the other template.--Rafy (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 00:06, 6 ܒܬܫܪܝܢ ܩܕܡ 2011 (UTC)
- Actually even the Persian version doesn't look that great. Do you mind if I rollback your version of the infobox so you can see how the Dutch version was implemented here? Michaelovic (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 10:40, 6 ܒܬܫܪܝܢ ܩܕܡ 2011 (UTC)
- I don't mind but you will have to change the parameters because Dutch names will not be recognised. That's why the Eastern churches' template wasn't showing up.--Rafy (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 10:59, 6 ܒܬܫܪܝܢ ܩܕܡ 2011 (UTC)
- You can take a look at ܥܕܬܐ ܣܘܪܝܝܬܐ ܐܪܬܘܕܟܣܝܬܐ. We could use this type for every sort of article ofcourse. Michaelovic (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 11:07, 6 ܒܬܫܪܝܢ ܩܕܡ 2011 (UTC)
- Looks much better indeed. Good job.--Rafy (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 12:55, 7 ܒܬܫܪܝܢ ܩܕܡ 2011 (UTC)

ܫܠܡܐ ܥܠܝܟ ܐܚܝ,
I've noticed that you've been using the letter ܜ (a "U" stroke on the Syriac Phonetic keyboard) for Teth, but that's actually incorrect since that's the Garshuni letter for ظ. If you look closely at the "loop", you'll notice that there's a dot inside. You should be using ܛ (a "J" stroke on the Syriac Phonetic keyboard), which has no dot. It's very hard to see the difference unless you're zoomed in, but the difference is big enough to count as a separate letter when typing.
Funny enough, I used to make the same mistake up until a few years ago. :) --334a (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 02:37, 6 ܒܬܫܪܝܢ ܩܕܡ 2011 (UTC)
- I thought the Teth looked kind of awkward. Thanks for that.--Rafy (ܡܡܠܠܐ) 10:40, 6 ܒܬܫܪܝܢ ܩܕܡ 2011 (UTC)
Translation request
[ܫܚܠܦ]Please, could you translate the following article?
Interlingua is an international auxiliary language (IAL), developed between 1937 and 1951 by the International Auxiliary Language Association (IALA). Its vocabulary, grammar and other characteristics are largely derived from natural languages. Interlingua was developed to combine a simple, mostly regular grammar with a vocabulary common to the widest possible range of languages, making it unusually easy to learn, at least for those whose native languages were sources of Interlingua's vocabulary and grammar.
If you want to translate any article into Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese or Interlingua tell it to me please. Chabi
